Frame warranty: 

All of our ophthalmic frames have a one-year warranty against manufacturer defect, except for Flexon frames which have a two-year warranty.  Frames will be repaired or replaced under this warranty at no charge during the warranty period.  We do need all frame parts to honor the warranty.  Lost or abused frames are not covered under the warranty. 

Scratch warranty:

Polycarbonate or Trivex lenses are recommended by this office for children's eyewear.  These have UV protection and a scratch-resistant coating.  They are not scratch proof so scratching is likely to occur with children.  Therefore, there is no scratch warranty.  There is also no warranty against loss of lenses so make sure to have the screws checked periodically to make sure they are tight.

Doctor change warranty:

If the eye physician changes the glasses prescription within four months of the initial prescription, there will be no charge to remake lenses purchased through our optical dispensary.  Only one remake is allowed at no charge.

Second pair discount:

We highly recommend a "back-up" pair of glasses, especially for children with strong glasses prescriptions.  There are many instances in which glasses cannot be repaired or replaced the same day.  Sometimes parts must be ordered and mailed to us and occasionally these parts are on back order.  We offer a multi-pair discount of 20% if the second pair of glasses are ordered within 3 months of the first pair.  This discount can also be used for prescription sunglasses or sports goggles.  It does not apply to swim goggles or non-prescription sunglasses. 

Referral program:

We accept prescriptions from other offices too!  If you know someone with a child who needs glasses and an eye physician outside of our office is caring for the child, please recommend that they get their glasses through our optical dispensary.  If they do, and they give us your name, we will give you 10% off your child's next pair of glasses purchased here.  This offer cannot be combined with any other offer.

All optical visits, including repair and adjustment, are best handled by calling in advance to set up an appointment time with our optician.  You may reach the optician by calling 515-222-1313.  If the optician is not immediately available, you may leave a voice message to return your call.
