The physicians at Children's Eye Clinic are fellowship trained pediatric eye surgeons.  Commonly performed surgeries include strabismus surgery (correction of eye muscle imbalance); tear duct obstruction surgery including tear duct probings, stent placement and balloon dilations; eyelid surgery including drainage of styes and removal of eyelid lesions as well as medically indicated eye examinations under anesthesia. 

Most of our surgical procedures are done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia.  We do not perform surgery in our office but the outpatient surgical facilities used by our physicians are conveniently located very close to our clinic.  Children with special needs may require that surgery be done at one of the Des Moines area hospitals.  All of our surgical facilities are equipped for and have extensive experience in providing surgical and anesthesia care to children.
